As the year of 2010 comes to a close, I take a look back. 2010 was really an awesome year for me on many levels, in both my personal and hobby-related life. To end of the year, here we have my final loot, which consists of some things which I’m been eying for for quite sometime:
– Bandai’s Cardcaptor Sakura Clow Staff X 2
– Azone’s 1/6 scale Haruhi Doll
– Azone’s 1/6 scale Mikuru Combat Waitress Doll
– The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Limited First Edition Blu-Ray Set Rakuten Books Ver (+ Replica Yuki Bookmark Set)
– The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Ichiban Kuji Set E (Episode 00 Stationary Set + 2 Muffler Towels)
Why 2 Clow Staffs? Well, like the other CCS merchandise out there, there seems to be two packaging variants and I wanted to see if the two were different in anyway. Will most likely sell one of them off. (^.^;)
As for the dolls, I’m thankful to Mandarake for providing them at an affordable price. Unlike many, I actually exceedingly enjoy Episode 00 in an ‘ironic’ sense. I love the sarcastic humor coupled with the horrendous cinematography and amateurish production values. Not to mention, Mikuru’s Combat Waitress outfit is one my personal favorites from Mikuru’s ‘repertoire’ of outfits (Bunny Girl being second).
…and finally, replicas!!! Being a replica nut, both the Rakuten Books version of the The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Limited First Edition Blu-Ray Set and Set E of the The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Ichiban Kuji were must-gets for me. The Blu-Ray set comes with replicas of two of Yuki’s bookmarks:
I was hoping for the one with the ‘I Am Here’ message to be included as well, but I’ll take what I can.
Currently, I’m tracking down a good hard-cover copy of the Japanese Edition of Dan Simmon’s Hyperion to compliment this replica.
While I don’t really care about the towels that come with the Set E of the The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Ichiban Kuji, I’m in love with the stationary set. What is included is:
a Note Pad made out to be a pamphlet/Art Book for Episode 00 together with a page of character art,
a Starring Inferno Pen and an actual replica movie ticket for the fictional screening! Amazing stuff for only a few bucks via Yahoo! Japan Auctions. (^o^)
Well, that’s that. I know I’m horrendously late with regards to the various Anime movie reviews… and I grantee that they will be coming very shortly. I also hope to put up a couple more video reviews before the new semester starts on the 10th of January. Other than that, that’s pretty much all that I have left to say for the end of the year.
Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful, amazing, magnificent, Happy New Year filled with good grades/higher pay, and more Anime and Merchandise! (^o^)
良いお年を!2011もよろしくお願いします!ヾ(=^▽^=)ノ
はい!!!! ありがとう~
Mattさん、あけましておめでとうございます!!! 2011もよろしく。\(^o^)/
Awesome!
You just need the Azone of Tsuruya now XD
AUGH, I want that art book!!!
actar… I just saw dollfie saber lily… it’s so awesome. Do you plan to get it to accompany your current daughter?
@ neosonic: Personally speaking, Saber is not one of my all time favorite characters, so I’ll have to give a pass on the dollfie rendition of her. If I were to get a dollfie, I’d probably spring for a dollfie Nagato Yuki. (^.^)
