Ladies and gentlemen! I am finally finished with the translation of the very first chapter of the HeartCatch Precure! Novelization!
As a huge, huge fan of the HeartCatch Precure! series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this novel when it was announced and I knew I just had to take a crack at translating it. I have to say that this was quite the experience for me. I have translated doujins, manga and fansubbed anime before, but this was the first time I’ve ever tried translating a novel. Also, I would have loved to have gotten this out faster, but this is a one-man project and I don’t have a digital copy to work with. So, please don’t be too harsh with me with regard to the formatting and stuff, because I know I still have a lot to learn. If you find any mistakes in grammar and stuff, don’t hesitate to inform me and I will update the document accordingly. For what it’s worth, I hope I did a good enough job. (^.^)
At this point in time, I’m not sure if I’ll be continuing with the next chapter as it ends on a great note (there are 5 chapters in total with end of the second chapter leading into the anime series). I guess I’ll wait for the responses or see if anyone else is going to pick it up. Do tell me how you enjoyed the story so far! I had a blast myself. It really allowed me to appreciate Yuri’s character in the main series so much more!
Be warned, as this first chapter is a prologue to the main series and revolves around Cure Moonlight, there will be spoilers for the show!

Edit 1: Changed Sabaak to Sabaaku.
Here is the brilliant opening theme from the Lucky Star anime spin-off, Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku. Translated this last year for the BD release that is still being worked on.
Enjoy!
When the last episode of Miyakawa-ke aired, I was disappointed that they decided to animate chapter 10 instead of skipping ahead to the later chapters. This is because they missed out on a very poignant scene between the two sisters that revealed quite a bit of Hinata’s back story.
I truly think that fans are missing out so, once again, I took the liberty of translating and typesetting the two strips in question. This took quite awhile, so I hope you guys enjoy it. (^.^)
I guess this would count as a spoiler if they ever decide to make any more Miyakawa-ke anime. But since chances are slim, I say, read away!
“A series about happiness and mutual understanding, despite being poor.”

…and yes, you didn’t read the title wrongly, this is indeed the final episode. In a blink of an eye, it’s over. We’re sad too, but as they say, all good things must come to end. Having read the entirety of the manga, I’m kind of saddened that they decided to go ahead with adapting chapter 10, instead of jumping to some of the later chapters with some really touching and funny moments with the two sisters and their back-stories. Nonetheless, for what it was, it was an absolute blast! Especially for a huge Lucky Star fan like myself, having the window to the Lucky Star world opened once more in anime form after 6 years was a phenomenal experience.
Anyways, speaking of phenomenal experiences, I personally had a whale of a time translating this show. It was not only great practice, it was also exceedingly rewarding, enriching and, most importantly, fun.
Let’s see what my other team members from Miya-K subs have to say:
CCharmanderK (QC/Timer): Wow, what a ride this has been. Prior to doing MKNK, I didn’t think much about how much work subtitling actually is. While indeed challenging, it’s fun to work on something you love. And I loved MKNK; if there isn’t any more Lucky Star-based animation from here on in, I’m happy knowing that we at least had MKNK to serve as closure. Perfect? No. But it certainly did give me something to be excited for every week.
steenuil (Typesetter): I’m glad I worked on Miyakawa since nobody else would probably have, but I suppose I’ll keep to my scanlations from now on. Schedules? Not even once. Anyway, where the hell is the bloody OP? Was it all just a ruse? Are they fucking with us like they did with the video quality? We’ll probably never know.
Hats off to these two amazing people, without whom none of this would have been possible.
Special thanks to RTM for his assistance when we were getting off the ground, FFFpeeps for correcting our mistake in Episode 7, volta_john for transcribing the ending song lyrics before the official lyrics came out and last but not least, YOU. Thanks to you guys, the fans of Lucky Star and our supporters.
See you next time when we release the DVD version of the show in October! (^o^)
Daisuke is <3.
Here's the latest installment of the continuing adventures of the Hungry Sisters. Daisuke X Hikage anyone?

So, if male otaku have waifus, what do female otaku have? Hazubandos? Doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it?
Anyways, it’s lucky number 7! And what a LUCKY episode it was indeed. (Stop me if I’m being too obvious.)

In this episode, they are talking about Nounai Maker (literally ‘Inside Brain Maker’): http://maker.usoko.net/nounai/
It is a website program that ‘reveals’ the contents of your mind depending on the name you enter. Feel free to try it for yourselves by entering your names. Though, you’ll need to be able to check the Kanji to figure out what it actually says. (^.^;)
Enter Hikage’s name and you’ll get the same result as in the anime. (^o^)

A landmark episode in more ways than one! For one, we have KARAOKE! Thanks to Steenuil for doing a phenomenal job on the typesetting and volta_john for the lyrics.
Also… What could have caught the Tenchou’s eye? Watch the episode to find out!

As a minor acquisitions update, this week, I went out of my way to purchase a Miku Tony Version figure because Hinata has one. Yes, I’m that hopeless.
