In a brilliant attempt to circumvent me running out of steam doing a day-by-day recount of my trip, this time, I’ll be writing just one post featuring only the juicy bits – Akihabara, Comiket (doujins) and more!
I’ll organize this post by sections that go in chronological order. At the end of the recount, will be a section that is dedicated to all the acquisitions that I got during my trip.
Without further ado, here we go!
(Warning! Image intensive and somewhat NSFW. Also, the changing aspect ratio of the pictures is due to the fact that a number of them were taken with different cameras.)
For a change of pace, and for the sake of entertainment, I bring to you something that I have never done in on this channel before – Singing. Sit back and relax as I risk life, limb and reputation to sing one of my favorite Anime songs, Koi no Mikuru Densetsu! I do hope you enjoy it as it honestly took a ton of time and effort to complete. (^.^;) Think of it as an early Christmas present to you all.
If you ask me why I like this song, I don’t think I’ll be able to give you a clear answer. Perhaps its because of the memorably horrendous and yet hilarious movie that the SOS Dan made. Or perhaps it’s because of Mikuru’s adorable voice and the song’s silly lyrics that always bring a smile to my face in times of stress.
With all the Birthday shenanigans and tomfoolery out of the way, it’s time to count up my acquisitions. This post will not only consist of the stuff I got for my Birthday (both as gifts and self-indulging), but also stuff that I’ve been accumulating over the past month.

Based on the ‘The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru’ film shot and produced by the SOS Dan, in this game, you take control of Mikuru as she fights her way thorugh the insane world that Haruhi has created.
So, here’s me playing through level one of this pretty fun, but challenging doujin game,朝比奈ミクルの横スクロールアクション or Asahina Mikuru’s Side Scrolling Action Game.
Made and released in 2006, it’s pretty faithful to the original movie. You first start off fighting Tsuruya as the first level boss, working up your way through Taniguchi, Kunikida, Yuki and finally Haruhi.
This video is also me testing out some desktop recording software.
Controls:
Z – Fire Desert Eagles
X – Use Contact Lense Special Power
C – Jump (Tap again for double jump)
V – Pause
Contact Lenses:
Yellow: Rifle Dart
White: Miracle Mikuru Eye R
Blue: Mikuru Beam
Green: Micro Black Hole
You lose a life once you touch a single enemy. Contact lenses act as shields and get destroyed in place of losing a life if you have one equipped.
Anime merchandise acquisition update once again as the beginning of February looms near.
– Spirit Evolving EmperorGreymon
– Yamato’s Valkyrie Display Stand
– Max Factory’s 1/8 Scale Asahina Mikuru MIKURU BEAMMMMMMMMMMMM Ver.
– Macross Plus Movie Edition Artbook
– Bamboo Blade Artbook
Let’s see… Regarding EmperorGreymon/KaiserGreymon currently, due to a sudden bout of serious nostalgia, I’m on a quest to complete my (Japanese) Digimon figure collection. Still have quite a number to go, and I’m financially DRAINED.
I finally bought that Mikuru figure by Max Factory that has been on my To Get list since 2008.
Got that stand to display my YF-19 alongside my YF-21:
Lastly, bought a couple of artbooks as well. For Anime that I love, I try to get the artbooks as well for the character designs/bios and episode guides. In particular, I think that the Macross Plus artbook is simply brilliant. For a huge fan of the OVAs and Movie like me, the artwork of all the mecha, characters and sets is simply phenomenal to look at.
Being the sixth Haruhi Figure to be released in the Figma line, this time based on how she appears in the movie, The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi, is this really worth picking up?
The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi. One of the most anticipated Anime movies of 2010 from the mega-popular franchise, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi) is finally here on Blu-Ray and DVD!
In this video, I not only take a look at the Limited Edition Blu-Ray set of the movie, but also give my brief opinions of the movie.
With this, we round up the Limited Edition Blu-Ray Set reviews on Actar’s Reviews… for the time being anyways. (^.^)
WARNING!!! This video and the description below contain spoilers for the movie, ‘The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi’. Since it is an excellent movie, don’t read the following or watch the video if you haven’t already watched the movie.
– SHFiguarts Cure Black
– SHFiguarts Cure White
– Azone’s 1/6 Scale Shirai Kuroko
– Figma Suzumiya Haruhi (Disappearance Ver.)
– Misaka Mori Box
– Medico’s Road Roller Papercraft
Yay! The first new loot of the new year~ Nothing grand or spectacular, but respectable none the less. Gotta save up as I’m hoping to get another 1/3 Scale Doll this year. (^.^)
