HeartCatch Precure! is one of my all time favorite Magical Girl series and my favorite series from the Precure franchise. I’ve been waiting ages for the HeartCatch girls to make an appearance in the World Uniform Operation line (a brilliant name, being a pun on World Domination Operation) ever since MegaHouse started making their way through the various Precure franchises.
Tsubomi and Erika are absolutely gorgeous and look simply magnificent together with the figures of their transformed counterparts, also produced by MegaHouse.
See several more pics after the jump, including more of Cure Blossom and Cure Marine!
Here on Actar’s Reviews, we’re not all about Anime and Figures and Japanese Popular Culture, but Traditional Japanese Culture as well.
Today, I went down to the Japanese Summer Festival held in Singapore, organized by the Japanese Association, Singapore. The Summer Festival is widely celebrated in Japan and is a staple in Slice of Life Anime like Lucky Star and Ichigo Mashimaro. The Summer Festival is held every year at the Japanese Primary School (Changi Campus) and aims to provide an authentic Japanese Summer Festival experience in Singapore.
It is an exceedingly popular event and is attended by both Japanese and locals alike. This being my first time at the event, I brought along my camera so that I could share the experience with all of you.
First, the multitude of stalls selling everything from traditional Japanese food to festival favorites to small souvenirs.
Next, we come to the game stalls. Many Summer Festival essentials are there including the Shooting Gallery and Balloon Yo-Yo Fishing. Sadly, Goldfish Scooping was axed by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority.
Lastly, we have the traditional Bon-odori (Bon Dance) where anyone can gather around the main stage and join in the festivities. Once night falls, the even commences.
With that, the Summer Festival comes to a close. While there were no fireworks, JAS did a bang up job in recreating the feel and atmosphere of Summer Festival in Japan. Me, my family and everyone else there certainly had a blast.
Now, as there are very few good voice talents out there, it is natural that some voice actors are reused. There are cases where they are able to change their voice so much that they sound completely different, but still deliver perfect dialogue.
What better way to celebrate the third anniversary of Actar’s Reviews than with an Evangelion themed review? But instead of a reviewing a regular Evangelion figure, we’ll be taking a look at the recently released playset representation of the Nerv Base by Bandai.
Want to get a replica from K-on! but don’t want to shell out thousands of dollars on their instruments? In my opinion, besides cups and Nekomimi, this is the best and most meaningful replica that is a must have for any K-On! fan.
Yui and Mio throwing a special concert, just for me., complete with fog machines~
As they say, another year older, another year wiser. Unfortunately, I cannot attest to this adage at all, because if I were wiser, I’d stop spending money on plastic crack. (^.^;)
This birthday, I finally replaced my old TV, which I have been using for about 5 years, with a brand new HD enabled one. But, the thing is, I will not be able to utilize the TV to its full potential as I have yet to purchase a Blu-Ray player… Mm… Gotta set my priorities straight.
While my actual Birthday was at the end of June, I waited this long before posting a ‘Birthday post’ as I wanted to wait till I had the TV up and running. This way, I could present to you my brand new TV set up in all it’s glory!

So, what do you think? How many figures/pieces of merchandise can you identify? (^.^) Do note that the watermark is covering up a couple of 1/60 Yamato VF-1s and a set of Evangelion themed UCC Coffee cans. Also wanted to perch my Revoltech MP Eva on the top of the TV like my previous one, but the TV was way too slim to accommodate the figure.
Regrettably, I don’t have a picture showing off my Birthday loot, so you’ll just have to trust me on this one. (^.^;)

A ton more loot coming later this month and the next… (a possible adoption perhaps!!!) Went way too overbored with the proxy again… Right now, I’m so short on cash that I had to cancel a multitude of orders, including Figma Saber Alter and Yamato’s YF-19… (TT.TT)
Next stop on my Lucky Star pilgrimage is Kasukabe where Kyoei/Kyouei High School, the real-life high school that Lucky Star’s Ryōō High School is based on, is located!
Saying that it was a surreal experience being at the school would be an understatement. I really wonder how the school would be like during regular school days. Since it was the New Year, everyone was off on their holidays. I guess that this was all for the best. Didn’t want any awkward stares. However, according to numerous sources, the town should be pretty used to that by now. (^.^;)
