Actar’s Acquisitions – November 2014

November 2014 Edited

Another so quickly? Yup.

– S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Kiwami Arms
– Nendoroid Kinomoto Sakura
– Sekai Seifuku Sakusen Misumi Nagisa
– Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax PS3 Game w/ Pre-order Bonus Artbook
– Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s BD Box
– Umakoshi Yoshihiko’s Toei Animation Works Revised Edition

Alrighty, let’s take a look at this month’s loot starting with that very surprising Misumi Nagisa (Cure Black) figure. Honestly, I think everything about this line is ingenious. If there is a theme to base an entire figure line on, it’s school uniforms. Beach Queens figures are nice, but the swimsuits are hardly signature outfits of the characters (save for a few). Not to mention, the name “Sekai Seifuku Sakusen” is brilliant. It’s a pun on “Plan for World Domination” because uniform (制服) is somewhat of a homonym of conquest (征服).

Regardless, I’m a huge fan of school uniforms and I’m glad to see characters like Nagisa in the line. From what I’ve seen of my figure thus far, they’re of superb quality. Sadly, they’re rather expensive… At 5000 yen a pop, they’re going to be quite challenging to collect… I so want them all! PLEASE RELEASE TSUBOMI!!!

Ahem… Moving on, we have another game from Dengeki Bunko that brings together a ton of characters from their various IPs. After Cross of Venus, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I can’t wait to play this one.

Finally, I bit the bullet and bought that Nanoha A’s Blu-Ray Box Set. Yes, I know, I know… But I couldn’t help myself. Now, I’ve gotten the BD Box Sets of the 3 Anime series that got me back into anime all those years ago: Haruhi, Lucky Star and Nanoha. Not going to get the first season’s Box Set because it was rather sub-par and the movie was better. Third season I don’t acknowledge, so that’s that.

Last but not least, regarding AFA, I”ll be only going on one day this year as I’m unfortunately predisposed on Friday and have JLPT on Sunday. This time round, I’m actually really happy to see that they are offering more autograph signing sessions, though their information distribution still leaves a ton to be desired. Hope I can manage to meet all the amazing Seiyuus who have breathed life into the characters that I hold so dear. Hope to report back on my acquisitions of the convention too!
