Well, it’s that time of the year again. Yup, AFAX or Anime Festival Asia X (my local Anime and Japanese pop culture convention) is right round the corner. It’s held on the 13th and 14th of November at the Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Halls, and as always, I’ll be attending.
Things that I personally am looking forward to this time round include the usual dealer rooms, events and special guests including Ichiro Mizuki, JAM Project, Angela, May’n, scandal and Hanazawa Kana, the voice behind many great Ami,e characters such as Tenshi from Angel Beats, Nadeko from Bakemonogatari and Zange from Kannagi.
But the thing that I’m most excited for would definitely have to be the screening of the movie,The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi.I can’t wait to watch that on the big screen.
Of course, I will also be looking forward to meeting up with many other Anime fans and bloggers from various online communities. For those of you who will be going, do stop me and say hi! This year, I shall be wearing my Haruhi Dancho armband once again along with a replica necklace of Raising Heart in celebration of the Haruhi and Nanoha movies respectively.
This year, I’ve also managed to finally get my name cards in order. With previous years, it was just some cobbled together with MS paint and printed on photo-paper mess. Now however, with photoshop at my disposal and seeking the services of a professional printing service, I’ve actually gotten something that looks pretty decent. I’ve a Fate version to boot too.
Anyways lastly, I would also like to take this opportunity to give you guys some updates regarding Actar’s Reviews.
First off, the third anniversary of Actar’s Reviews is almost upon us or already upon us depending on when you watch this video. I signed up for a Youtube account on the tenth of November 2007 but technically speaking, I uploaded my first video the day after which makes the official anniversary of Actar’s reviews the 11th of November.
This year, I definitely plan to have a anniversary contest video with some prizes, but unfortunately, that will have to be postponed to the end of the month due to my finals which are technically only a week after AFAX and I do have a ton of studying to get done.
And because of my finals, I’m not sure if I’ll have time to blog on or post a video on AFAX. Fear not, I haven’t run out of things to review, in fact, right now, I have about 20 reviews in my backlog. Though it is quite true that I’ve actually cut back a lot on my figure spending, what with my recent acquisition of Fate and a brand new desktop PC. Not to mention, having a custom case made for her just rubbed more salt into the wound. So sadly, I will most likely not be getting many a Figma such as Figma Dead Master, Adult Mikuru and Luka. Apologies to those who have been looking forward to those reviews, but desperate times calls for desperate measures. Contrary to popular belief, I do have a part time job that feeds this addiction of mine. As it is, I’m already scrapign the bottom of the barrel for AFAX. Through I will still be getting all the Figma Evangelion girls and the new Figma Haruhi though. Currently, I have also
In closing, what better way to end my video than with a quick shout out to my fans, viewers and supporters? As of last month, we have managed to pass the 4000 subscriber mark which is indeed a monumentous milestone for any Youtube based figure reviewer. Thank you so much for continually watching, enjoying and supporting my videos and making all this possible.
See you guys at AFAX!
