Actar’s August Acquisitions Part 1

As the title states, part one to another crazy month of reckless spending. All the money that I have been saving up for the past 4 – 5 months via my part-time job down the drain…

What’s the damage to my wallet this month? Well, first off, we have the monthly (July’s) slew of pre-orders thanks to AmiAmi.

– GSC’s 1/8 Scale Misaka Mikoto
– Bakemonogatari Nendoroid Puchi Set 1
– Bakemonogatari Nendoroid Puchi Set 2
– Medico’s Super Action Statue Joseph Joestar and Iggy

– Azone’s 1/6 Scale Nakano Azusa Doll

– Medicom’s 1/6 Scale Real Action Heroes Mari

also

– 3 X Obitsu Doll Stands

– Shimada Minami Glass
– Nanoha Milk Cookies (Yes. Nanoha Milk Cookies.)

Sadly, due to a lack of funds, I had to cancel a number of orders like Figma Saber Alter and Yamato’s 1/60 scale YF-19…

But whatever the case, just for fun, here’s a couple of bonus pictures of both Mari:

Other than that, a number of other things have arrived, but will be saved for their own special individual posts, coming soon. (^.^)

I also own Bakemonogatari Nendoroid Petit Set, and if look under Senjougahara’s shirt you’ll find a surprise. I’m looking forward to your review on your Mari.

What a waste. The YF-19 was pretty good. Did you even consider the VF-22? Then again, you might want to hold on for their upcoming Fire Valkyrie.

Do want that Shimada Minami Glass – looks lovely. Nice post btw, mind if I ask you about a link exchange. I would appreciate that. Thanks.

man you do collect a lot of anime figures. just a small suggestion , why dont you start to branch out a tad bit. start with toy companies like neca who has been giving the toy community their best work in years with Predators & Terminator 2 Judgment Day. and yes neca is going to start working on the original classic 1984 the Terminator Series. and not to mention with 2011 neca will have not only the classic predator from 1987 , but also the elder predator from predator 2. when anime can be a bit too much , look towards american film classics. I am sure you can also branch out with Hot Toys too. they have also gave us some really great toys in all genres of films. to name a strong few : THE MATRIX , TERMINATOR 2 JUDGMENT DAY , TERMINATOR SALVATION , AVP , ALIENS , ALIENS , ALIEN 3 , PREDATOR 2 , AVP-R , 1987 PREDATOR , IRON MAN II , etc. they actually have pre-orders up now for BOTH the T-800 arnold and what me and many people can easily agree is one of cinema’s greatest villains…the T-1000. The T-1000 was a major villain in T2 and all thanks to robert patrick’s brilliant performance. terminator salvation was in deed stan winstons last movie he worked on before his passing last year. stan winston , as you should know , is a special effect master who built the mechanical effects for the terminator , short circuit , designed the predator , did some mechanical effects in Terminator 2 Judgment Day , built the robotic dinosaurs from Jurassic park and built the queen alien from Aliens. sadly his last mechanical film robot we ever saw from him before we did was the design of the T-600 terminators.

anime can be great at times , but take that away for just a minute and see what else we have. you know , branch out. try something new and very cool.

its like listening to guns n roses song you could be mine. the very same song John Connor , the leader of the future resistance , has listened to since 1991, well, 1991 on screen.

what gundam and many robot anime doesnt have , is the charm like arnold or linda hamilton or michael behin or edward furlong or robert patric or yes even james cameron has. or a score like brad fidel. that’s why its reconized all over the world and the first 2 films , The Terminator & Terminator 2 Judgment day , are masterpieces of sci-fi and action. especially T2 with the very early CGI work on the T-1000 which still holds up today with CGI done right thanks to ILM.

its a strong nostalgia factor and a much stronger fan base than star wars can ever dream that makes The Terminator franchise a legend in films.

the war against the machines and the human resistance in a film series of film noir mixed with sci-fi and time travel all mixed into one film or aka 2 films.

it would be nice for you to at least branch out into films , and Terminator is a great way to start in merchandise.

in a future war in 2029 ad , the war against the machines and the super computer skynet. a defense network computer that became self aware and almost destroyed the human race in the nuclear war the resistance calls judgment day. and the last hope is the leader of the human resistance and his tech-com team , John Connor.

a film series with top notch A list actors , Michael Behin , Linda Hamilton , Arnold Schwarzenegger , Edward Furlong , Robert Patrick , with score by Brad Fidel , special effects by Stan Winston , cgi effects by ILM , and directed by James Cameron.

recommneded by everone , top 10 in many peoples opinions , winning multiple awards including the acadamies , strongly reconized by AFI , winning all awards at the 1992 MTV Movie awards , and considered to be not only the greatest movie sequel ever made , but one of the best films ever made.

    1991
    James Cameron’s
    Terminator 2 Judgment Day
    Edward Furlong – John Connor
Arnold Schwarzenegger – The Terminator T-800
    Robert Patrick – T-1000
    Linda Hamilton – Sarah Connor

a solid movie from beginning to end , a masterpiece of sci-fi & action , and a milestone in film history.

and it gets better with age. it also has 3 different versions of the same film and a ton of special features on what i considerd the best T2 dvd , the ultimate edition.

no other film or anime or tv series has endoskeletons or future war or a strong complex story.

    truly a masterpiece.

” the future is not set , there is no fate but what we make for ourselves ” – Kyle Reese’s message to Sarah from future John Connor.
